-The figure 2 presents the distribution of sugarcane production by municipality. The starts of the time series the production was concentrated in the state of São Paulo. However, all Brazilian states had municipality with production.  After 1990 some municipalities in the states of Mato Grosso do Sul and Minas Gerais. After 2000 Mato Grosso and the South of Goais showed productions area. In 2008 starts the increase in the number of municipality with higher production mainly in the states of Minas Gerais, Goias, Mato Grosso, Mato Grosso do Sul and North of Parana State.
